When Hanan Siam returned to review her house in Beit Lahia to
the north of Gaza City, which she evacuated with her family
during the Israeli heavy shelling of the area, she was
astonished by the horrible destruction that changed the features
of the landscape and transferred the whole area into huge
cairns.
