Kindergartens’ Employees: harsh circumstances and attempts for improvement |

M. N. left her work as a kindergarten teacher despite her need for this work. M could not bare the continuous humiliation of her boss at work, she is 23 years old but she has suffered her fair share while teaching. This case reflects the situation of many women who suffer too while teaching in kindergartens. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, there are 1028 kindergartens in the West Bank and Gaza strip, including 3167 female teachers and 80161 students.

Fatima Sehwail : A Successful Female Experience in Local Councils |

Fatima Sehwail's story began four years ago when she nom inated herself in the local council's elections sponsored by the Palestinian Authority. These elections aimed at establishing a joint local council that would join representatives of three villages: (Mazare' Al Nobani, Arora and Ibween (Fatima's village). The idea of nominating herself began when people around her encouraged to do so, since she was seen as a role model to everyone around her, she has been a teacher and the Headmistress of the village's school for 27 years.

An Arab-American Activist Conducts a Roundtable Discussion in PWWSD |

The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development in cooperation with Public Affairs Office in the American Consulate conducted a roundtable discussion with Ms. Rebecca Abou-Chedid (an Arab American activist). This discussion joined 50 women from various cities in the West Bank who were very enthusiastic to listen to Ms. Rebecca and share part of their experiences with her.
